[Foodie Tuesday] Vegan Option for Coffee Creamer

by Jennifer James

For the past two months I have been a vegan and have been loving it even though I have had a few dairy lapses here and there. What I’ve learned is this: milk is in almost everything which makes the vegan transition a little difficult at first! Buying foods that don’t contain milk can be frustrating, but it’s also fun finding dairy alternatives!

While shopping at Whole Foods I found a non-dairy coffee creamer (because you know I need my coffee!) called So Delicious. It comes in original, hazelnut and French vanilla and is also soy-free for those of you who are allergic to soy or just don’t like it. Typically if you want a dairy free alternative you turn instinctively to soy, but you don’t have to all of the time. So Delicious is made from coconut milk. Honestly, it took a few cups of drinking it to please my taste buds, but eventually it tasted  really good to me and now I can’t live without it.

Is there a non-dairy creamer you love?

  1. So Delicious French Vanilla Coconut Milk Creamer is my favorite new indulgence. It does for my morning coffee what Vegan Gourmet dairy-free cream cheese does for my morning bagel!

  2. Thanks for sharing that info..I love anything coconut:)

  3. the best substitute I’ve found for half and half is homemade cashew cream. soak unroasted, unsalted cashews in water overnight. put cashews in blender with water to cover the cashews by about an inch. I add just a bit of sugar, vanilla and a shake of cinnamon. Half and half was my last dairy habit, this made me kick that habit.
